How I Decorate My Christmas Tree

I was looking for another Christmas tag to do but they all have a lot of the same questions. During a Twitter chat, the lovely Claire invited me to do this tag. Definitely check out her blog if you haven't. It's a great mix of fashion and lifestyle. :) Now onto the questions!

When do you put your Christmas tree up?

Usually 2 weeks before Christmas.

Is your tree real or fake?

Usually i do a real but because of all the icky weather I just went for a fake tree.

What is your oldest and newest ornament?

My oldest ornament is one that says Baby's First Christmas and the newest is an owl that I bought about a week ago. :p

Do you have a favourite decoration?

A candy cane 'T' I got last year. :)

What goes on top of your Christmas tree and who puts it there?

My mom puts the star on every year despite her fear of heights. :)

How many trees do you put up and which rooms do they go in?

We have 1 tree which is always in our living room.

Do you have any pet peeves in the way people decorate their trees?

Im not a huge fan of tinsel or garland but to each its own!

Does your tree have a theme?

Not specifically.

Where have you bought your ornaments from?

All over the place. Target, Walmart, Hallmark, etc.

Does your family have any quirky tradition when they put up the tree?

Not really quirky but we always listen to Christmas music. :)

NOTD: Candy Mani

I love Christmas themed nails because they're just so fun and festive. This is the first of many Christmas NOTDs I have planned! I decided to go with a classic. Candy canes, of course!

I started by painting all my nails a metallic red by Nicole by O.P.I in Boys n' Berry. I got it at my local discount store for $1! Then using an L.A Colors Art Deco Polish in White, I freehanded some diagonal stripes. To make it a little more shimmery, I added Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in Rock Candy. And that's it! It's a really simple yet fun design and I absolutely love how they turned out!

Jingle All The Way Tag!

I've been wanting to do another Christmassy tag and this one has been going around YouTube quite a bit lately. I thought the questions weren't too similar to the Christmas Tag which is good. Onto the questions!

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions? Spending Christmas day with my moms family and making a gingerbread house
What is one thing you hope to get for the holidays? A hair waver and the Nicki Minaj 'Minajesty' perfume!
What is one thing you are giving for the holidays? I'm getting my mom a perfume from DKNY :)
Favorite Holiday Starbucks Drink? Gingerbread lattes!
Ice-skating or Holiday Shopping? Holiday shopping! I will admit I have a slight addiction to shopping. :P
Its snowing outside, do you stay in and drink hot cocoa, or go outside and play in the snow? Stay inside with my cup of hot cocoa and admire the snow
Favorite Christmas Movie? How the Grinch Stole Christmas. The cartoon version!
Favorite Christmas Song? Last Christmas by Wham!
Real tree or fake tree? I usually have a fake tree but this year I went with a prelim fake tree. Much easier!
What is your favorite holiday beauty trend? Christmas nails!
What is your favorite thing about Christmas? Having breakfast with my family, opening presents on Christmas morning, and just relaxing. :)

Review: L.A Colors BabyPOP Eyeshadows

I can't go anywhere without looking at makeup. Including the dollar store. I saw these and they were $1 for both. I figured why not but didn't expect much. I've tried L.A Colors before and their products aren't very consistent.

The first one is a combo of a cobalt blue and a seafoam green.

The other is a combo of a medium pink and a vibrant lavender.

They aren't chalky like most cheap makeup tends to be. And the color payoff is surprisingly pretty good.

As far as wear goes, they lasted about 4 hours without a primer. With a primer they lasted about 8 hours.

If you have a Family Dollar near you, I would really recommend hunting these down. They are great quality for the price and I will definitely be seeing what other shades these come in!

Week in Photos #2

1. Went into town and it was all decorated for Christmas. The picture does it no justice.

2. The cutest inflatable Christmas decoration ever! I might just have to go back to Sears to get it. :)

3. My FOTD from Friday night. Went for neutral shadows and a purple eyeliner for a pop of color.

4. I was in Kohl's Saturday night and I stepped on string attached to my boot and it completely unraveled and fell apart. Can you say embarrassing? :P

5. Ghiradelli Chocolate. Probably my absolute favorite chocolate

Stocking Stuffers Under $5!

Christmas is right around the corner and I know that I'm always so excited about whats in my stocking. But filling up a stocking can add up. So I'm showing several different gifts that are under $5.

For the beauty lover:

• Nail Polish! Brands such as Sinful Colors and Sally Hansen run for about $3.

• EOS lip balms! Great for those dry, winter months and only cost about $3 as well.

For the crafty girl:

• Rainbow Loom bands! Rainbow Loom is a really cool trend right now where you make your own bracelets out of rubber bands. They run for about $2 and you get 100 in a pack.

• Polymer Clay! I know I used to love this stuff. It's a bakable clay that is used to make charms and necklaces. Depending on the brand it can cost $1-$3.

For the tech lover:

• Phone Cases! A great way to express your style. And you don't have to have an iPhone to find a case. Amazon has cases for a wide variety of phones. And the best part is they are cheap. Most are in the $4 range.
